When you replace your stylus, also remember to replace the belt.

 

Just like the diamond, the strap is an essential element for the proper functioning of the turntable. It is advisable to change it when a turntable has not turned for several years or every 4 or 5 years if it turns regularly. Indeed, over time, the belt loses its elasticity, becomes rough and rigid. The plate is then less operational. The price of a generic belt is around 12-15 euros for the majority of models but can go up to 55 euros for an original model.

The size of the belt varies not only from one frame model to another but it can also vary on the same reference depending on the product distribution site (UK, US, FR, EU, etc.) The size of the counter-platter being different.

​

To choose your belt, however, there is a simple solution. Know the diameter of the backing plate. The counter-platter is the disc located on the inside face of the platter.
